Beijing No. 8 School at Yihai (Yihai No.8 School) was founded in 1998. It is a modern, well equipped boarding school. Yihai No. 8 School is approved by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission and built with the cooperation and support of Beijing Yihai Garden Real Estate Development Co. Ltd.

    Yihai No. 8 School has a gross floor area of 34,000 square meters. It has 39 well equipped classrooms and labs, a double gymnasium, 50 meter indoor swimming pool, all weather running track and an artificial turf playing field, two libraries, a fully equipped cafeteria and comfortable dormitories etc. These are but a few of the attributes that are enjoyed by the school's 1136 students and 182 teachers and clerks.

　From 1998 to the present, Yihai No. 8 School has had an impressive academic record. In the high school entrance exam 70% of the students are above the "key" school line. High school graduates are all (100%) above the college entrance line.

　Throughout its 10-year history, the school has had outstanding results in every aspect of education. The 2006 "Beijing Education Institutions Investigation", in which over 300 of Beijing's top schools participated, rated Yihai No. 8 School as the "school with the highest degree of satisfaction of citizens" and the "school with the most competitive graduates". In the 2007 "Beijing Education Institutions' Investigation" Beijing No. 8 Middle School Yihai Branch School was recognized as the "school with the most prestige".
